Words September 2024 Week 2

The parts of the corn plant are corn stalk, ear of corn, corn husk, corn silk, kernels of corn and the corncob. (It’s been a long while since I ate corn off the cob.)

There is a cool breeze. (A breeze is a light wind.)

The test was a breeze. (The test was easy.)

We were just shooting the breeze. (We were just talking about nothing important.)

I will probably have chemotherapy. (Chemotherapy are very strong chemicals that kill fast growing cells in your body such as cancer.)

The water is running. (Someone didn’t turn the water off in the sink.)

He has short-term memory loss. (This is a type of dementia.)

190,000,000 people have visited the Tokyo Tower since it opened 60 years ago. (The 190 millionth visitor was from Seattle.)

I cancelled the online order. (She lost her Suica card and was going to buy one online, but the Fussa Police station called her saying that they had it.)
