At about 6 pm we had a grilled steak dinner and hamburgers for the kids. Marlo made some french fries in the air-fryer. Stina made a pasta salad and large bowl of fresh strawberries and blueberries. At about 8:30 we had another beautiful sunset. The sunsets differ from day to day. I think that last night’s sunset was a little more awesome. There is an Indian casino near here. Christina and I usually go once or twice when I visit. We went there last night. It has been almost three years since I last went there. My favorite type of slot machines were nowhere to be found. I tried some games that I have never played and got super lucky. After a couple of hours I had won $1,300 or about 180,000 yen. (I heard the yen-dollar rate is about 140 yen – one dollar.) I slept-in till about 9:30. I got up to beautiful blue skies, bright sunshine, and a deer munching on blackberries outside the side door.
September 7, 2022 Tyler’s football game was last night. I was too tired to post here last night so here I am. Another beautiful sunny day in Anacortes. Tyler’s team won the game 42 – 14. Tyler, a.k.a. “TO” (tee-oh) had a fantastic game. On defense he caused two fumbles which were recovered by his teammates. He recovered a fumble that was caused by his teammates, and he intercepted a pass and ran 72 yards (68 meters) and was about two meters short of scoring. He also had 7 tackles. He played almost the whole game on both offense and defense. Today is the first day of the new school year. The kids are in school, and Andrew and Christina are at work so I will do a ton of laundry, dishes and clean house. Just call me “Mr. Mom.” (smile). The following are football jargon: (Jargon are special words used for a particular profession. In this case, “football jargon.”) When Team A throws (passes) the football but Team B catches it, that is called an interception. If the Team B player in this case catches the ball and scores a touchdown, it is called a “pick-6.” A touchdown is worth 6 points. TO almost had a pick-6. Team A player is running with the football and drops the ball, that is a fumble. If Team B player picks up the ball, that is a fumble recovery. Tyler caused two fumbles and also recovered one fumble. The quarterback can pass the ball, run the ball or give the ball to another player to run it. The person the quarterback hands the ball to is called a “running back (RB). Tyler was the RB on offense. |
