October 5, 2024

I watched the Anacortes football team play last night. I asked Tyler before the game if it would be an easy game. He just said that they were a good team but that we would win easily. The opposing team had lost only one game so far this season.

Anacortes received the ball first. We fumbled the ball on the kickoff and the other team recovered it on their 20-yard line. Our defense prevented them from scoring. We actually fumbled three times in the first quarter. That was very unusual, but our defense is very strong so we were lucky there. Tyler got the first tackle on defense in the first play of the first half and in the first play of the second half.

I’m glad that I watched the game from the sideline. I could hear Tyler talking to his teammates. As an example, on one play, before they hiked the ball, Tyler yelled “they are going left” and sure enough that is where they ran. He tackled the runner for a loss.

The Anacortes Seahawks won the game by a score of 49-7.

It rained earlier in the day but it stopped a few hours before gametime. The sunset was beautiful as usual, but after it set, it got windy and was freezing cold. With the score so high I was going to sit in the car, but since it was the last game for me to watch, I stayed on the field.

Here is a photo of Marlo and “he’s not my boyfriend – just friends” Body, after Thursday night’s soccer game. (His named is pronounced as in Japanese romaji “bo – di” not like “my body is big.”)

This will be my last “what’s new.” I’ll walk with Christina in a few minutes and kick-back for the rest of today. “My bags are packed and I’m ready to go… Leaving on a jet plane…”
