My Notes September 2025 Week 3

Osaka set two world records for the largest Bon Dance and most nationalities performing the Bon Dance simultaneously.  

The event took place as part of "Osaka Week" within the Osaka Expo site.

None of the 3,946 participants were disqualified during the five-minute attempt.

Participants from 62 countries took part in the event.

Wearing yukata was not required, so many people wore traditional clothes from around the world.

September 16 is Stay Away from Seattle Day.

This day asks people to steer clear of the Emerald City for just one day.

Seattle is a rapidly growing city and has many attractions that bring many tourists.

Many Seattleites long for the quiet peaceful days of yesteryear.

Maybe Japan should declare Obon Week “Stay Away from Japan Week” so people can enjoy the festivities and ceremonies without crowds of tourists.

“Hands down” means “guaranteed or definitely.”

He is hands down the best player on the team.

“Hang in there” means "don't give up."
Sometimes life is difficult, but hang in there, things will get better.
