My Notes September 2024 Week 3 (Sep 17 - 21)

Idioms of the week

Big cheese

Binge watching

Oliver Kern set the record for skiing 3 ski resorts in 3 countries, on two continents in 1 day.

He was on the slopes skiing at Naspa Ski Garden in Japan at 6:25 a.m.

By 8:33 a.m. he was on the train to Tokyo, but his flight was delayed by three and a half hours.

His flight to Seattle arrived at 7:38 a.m. on the same day and he skied from 11:15 a.m. to 2:15 p.m.

He then drove to Grouse Mountain in Canada and arrived at 7:22 p.m. and skied until 8:15 p.m.

August is All American Breakfast Month.

Some people say that breakfast is the most important meal of the day.

A study of 6,000 kids found that students who ate breakfast had better grades in school.

It also revealed that a 12-year-old who skips breakfast has the reaction time of a 70-year-old.

A common American breakfast includes 2 eggs, bacon, sausage or ham and toast.

The popular Denny’s Grand Slam includes 2 pancakes, 2 eggs, 2 slices of bacon, 2 sausage links and hash brown potatoes.

“Big cheese” means “a person who has a lot of power.”

He thinks that he is the big cheese when he became manager.

“Binge watching” means ”watching multiple episodes of a television program, one after another.”

I binge-watched seven seasons of the TV drama on Netflix in three weeks.
