This long, thin, crusty loaf with shallow cuts, is one of the world’s most popular breads. Traditional French baguettes are made with only white flour, water, yeast and salt. After the bread was baked, it was cut up, spread with Nutella and shared with the public. Much of the bread was donated to the homeless. September 13 is Banana Day. Bananas were first domesticated around 7,000 years ago in New Guinea. The Cavendish, a.k.a. “yellow banana,” is the most common banana. Japanese use bananas to make material for kimono and kamishimo. Banana skins are also used to make paper. “Beyond any reasonable doubt” means “something is certain.” The jury found him guilty beyond any reasonable doubt. “Bide one’s time” means “to wait for a good opportunity to do something.” He is biding his time waiting for used car prices to drop. |
