My Notes November 2026 Week 1

The Kongō Gumi Company is the world's oldest continuously ongoing independent company.

Prince Shōtoku asked skilled workers from Korea to build the Buddhist temple Shitennō-ji.

The temple was finished in the year 593 CE.

One of the workers stayed in Japan and made his own company.

The company was family owned for 1,400 years until it was bought by the Takamatsu Co. in 2006.

The company specialized in Buddhist temples, but also constructed the Osaka Castle.

November is National Peanut Butter Month.

Peanuts are not nuts; they are actually legumes which are beans and peas.

Peanuts originally came from South America but are now grown around the world.

The peanut plants have flowers which go into the ground and produce the peanuts.

To make simple homemade peanut butter, blend roasted peanuts for about five minutes.

You can add salt, sugar, honey, peanut oil or butter for taste and texture.
