My Notes June 2024 Week 2

Alessandra Hayden of Gig Harbor, Washington, holds the longest marathon for crocheting.

She crocheted for 34 hours and 7 minutes.

After her mother passed away, she spent a lot of time at her grandma’s house.

She learned to crochet when she was just eight years old.

While crocheting, her daughter gave her snacks and energy drinks through a straw.

She said that she felt butterflies in her stomach and her hands were shaking from all of the excitement during the crocheting marathon.

June 5 is National Gingerbread Day.

Gingerbread refers to baked goods, typically flavored with ginger, cloves, nutmeg, and cinnamon and sweetened with honey, sugar, or molasses.

Gingerbread foods vary, ranging from a moist cake to crispy ginger snaps.

Gingerbread was brought to Europe in the year 992 AD from Greece.

Making a gingerbread house is a Christmastime tradition.

“Get outta here” means “I don’t believe you” or “You are joking.”

A: I just won the jumbo lottery! B: Get outta here! No way!

“Keep your chin up” means “to be optimistic.”

You had a bad day today, but keep your chin up, tomorrow is a new day.
