James Whomsley created the world’s largest remote-controlled (RC) model aircraft carrier.

It measured 5.02 meters in length.

James missed several times before successfully landing the first plane on the carrier’s deck.

The second plane crashed into the water, but the third plane landed safely.

He got a second record for the first RC airplane take-off and landing on an RC aircraft carrier.

He said: “To have this idea, and then it actually worked, that’s amazing.”

August 7 is Lighthouse Day

A lighthouse is a structure used to serve as a beacon for navigational aid.

Lighthouses mark dangerous coastlines and safe entries to harbors.

In ancient times, bonfires were built on hilltops to guide ships into ports.

Global positioning systems (GPS) made most lighthouses obsolete.

Today, you can buy a lighthouse to live in.

“Backseat driver” means “a passenger in a car who gives unwanted advice to the driver.”

My mother-in-law is a backseat driver.

“A bad hair day” means ”a day when everything is going wrong”.

Joe is really grouchy; he must be having a bad hair day.
