Date Posted：05/13/2023 07:30 AMCopy HTML May 13, 2023 Another long day at Keio Hospital. The special CT scan showed that there are two separate tumors. One is on the saliva gland and the other is on the carotid artery. Last week the doctor thought there was only one on the saliva gland. He also thought the tumor was benign (no cancer) but it seems to be malignant (has cancer). He did a biopsy today to find out what type of tumor. He will get the results in about a week. I will see him again on May 22. At best, I will probably need chemotherapy (化学療法 Kagaku ryōhō). At worst, I will need surgery on the carotid artery. I will explain more about this surgery when I know for sure if it is needed. I was a little let down when I heard the news, but at the same time, I feel lucky to have a great team of doctors to treat my problems. I know some of my students and friends are worried, but please don’t worry. I feel positive that I will get the best treatment and soon the doctors will fix the problems. |

I hope get well soon and you go to the Seattle as your plan. FY Hi FY, Thanks for replying. After last week talking with the doctor, I thought it would be easy. After more tests, it looks difficult. But the doctor won’t know for sure until he sees the results of today’s tests. The doctor recommended that I postpone my trip to Anacortes. Now I hope that I am in a good condition when Max and his friends visit in July. I am positive and will find a way to help them have a good time. At least I have more time to clean house and the yard. I will know much more after my next appointment. See you next week. Have a nice weekend. |

That picture was the first time I joined your party on May 12th in 2013. There were three Chinese girls and Ichiro san. It have past just ten years since then. I couldn't imagine about ten years later's situation at that time.

Hi Yoshi. I remember that party. I too never thought so many things would happen in ten years. But, I’m looking forward to the next ten years. Right now I’m looking forward to next Monday when I hopefully will know my treatment schedule. I postponed my trip to Anacortes until later this year or next year. Still planning on the BBQ for July 9. |
