He started swimming at the age of five, and competed at the local, regional and national levels.

At the age of ten, he participated in the Junior Olympics.

At those games, he broke nine national records, one of which continues to stand to this day.

October 31 is Caramel Apple Day.

They are created by dipping apples-on-a-stick in hot caramel.

They are sometimes rolled in chopped nuts for added flavor.
