Idioms of the week: To get one's mond off something To get on one's nerves Lessons June 2025 Week 3 The Greenland sled dog is believed to be the oldest living dog breed. Recent research shows that it descended from a 9,500-year-old Siberian dog. The Akita Inu is also considered an ancient breed originating around 3,000 BC. The first dogs came from wolves about 37,000 years ago. The Danish-Swedish farm dog became the newest dog breed in 2025. June 12 is National Peanut Butter Cookie Day. In the early 1930s peanut butter was listed as an ingredient in the cookies. Fork tines were used to make a crisscross pattern so that the cookies would bake evenly. “To get a kick out of something” means “to really enjoy something.” I get a kick out of singing karaoke after drinking.
