Lessons December 2024 Week 3

Eamonn Keaveney set the record for riding a unicycle the length of Ireland.

There was no previous record, so Guiness said that he had to finish in under six days.

He cycled the distance of 613 km in 5 days 5 hours and 23 minutes.

He had never ridden a unicycle before, so he practiced until he could travel 100 km in a day.

You can’t stand or lean on handlebars on a unicycle, so even going downhill was difficult.

He also set records for walking barefoot 2,080 km and climbing 10 mountains barefoot in ten days.

December 13 is Gingerbread Man Cookie Day.

Queen Elizabeth I of England had cookies made in the likeness of some of her important guests.

An Ikea store in Norway set the record for the largest gingerbread cookie at 651 kg.

"The Gingerbread Man" is a fairy tale about a gingerbread man who comes to life.

He outruns an elderly couple and various animals but sadly is devoured by a fox in the end.

The gingerbread man probably lives in a gingerbread house.

“To cry one's eyes out” means “to cry hard.”

She cried her eyes out when her dog died.
“To cut class” means “to not go to class.”

We cut class and went fishing.
