April 7, 2022

Long time no see!  There is an old Japanese saying "三寒四温" which translates into "three days cold, four days warm." That is close to how the weather has been. On April 1, (I’m not joking) I went golfing for the first time in ten months. I didn’t care about what my score would be, I was on cloud nine to just be able to play. Luckily, the rain had stopped on the day before, but there were very strong winds, and it was super cold. I had my worst score ever for the first nine holes. I forgot how to hit the ball. I was having a great time! (April fools!) I had a huge bowl of delicious hot ramen for lunch. After lunch, the sun came out and it warmed up a little and the wind died down a little. With a little coaching from my friends, I was able to play rather well for the next nine holes. Then I was in seventh heaven!

I did a lot of weeding and planted some vegetables. This weekend I will plant some butternut squash seeds. I hope that they grow as well as they did last year.

It looks like we’ll have some nice weather until the middle of next week. Let’s go outside and get some fresh air, sunshine and exercise.

The pizza chains in Japan are largely dominated by American brands like Pizza Hut, Dominos, and Shakey’s, but among them the Japanese founded Pizza-La has continued to be a top-selling franchise too.

Recently, they joined forces with Comif Deli, a dog food producer that specializes foods that can be eaten by people but are also gentle on canine digestive systems so that they can be eaten by pet dogs as well. This meeting resulted in the birth of Wanko Pizza Teriyaki Chicken.

Although it is made wil the same ingredients of a regular pizza, it is recommended that humans don’t eat it. One pizza is sold for 880 yen.

This is the second release of the puppy pizza, with the first having been sold directly through pet supply stores last year. This time, anyone near one of 60 participating Pizza-La locations in the Greater Tokyo Area can have a Wanko Pizza delivered right to their door.

Last year a couple of our writers dined on some cake made for dogs by Comif Deli and were really surprised with how delicious it was. With the added help of Pizza-La, the Wanko Pizza Teriyaki Chicken will probably be popular with pets and their owners.
