I didn’t wring the water out of the laundry before hanging it. (The clothes were dripping wet when she hung them.)

Using insect repellant helps protect against tick bites. (There is a major problem with ticks in Japan recently.)

She has a green thumb. (She is good at growing things.)

I gave him a model airplane for his birthday. (I was surprised at how expensive it was.)

What is the moral of the story? (The moral of a story is a lesson taught in a story, like “The Boy Who Cried Wolf.”)

I had to get a food handler’s certificate. (Recently the government has become very strict on how people hand food that they sell.)

They sell many imported foods. (I don’t trust the safety of some food that is imported.)

The reason McDonald’s hamburgers don’t rot is that they are thin and dry before bacteria can grow. (The videos about their hamburgers not being real food are false.)

It was a knee slapper. (It was an extremely funny joke.)
