October 26 is National Chicken Fried Steak Day.

Chicken-fried steak is an American breaded beef cutlet dish.

It is breaded and fried similar to the more common fried chicken.

When deep-fried and served with white gravy, it is usually called “chicken fried steak.”

If it is pan-fried and served with brown gravy, it is often called “country-fried steak.”

Chicken-fried steak is said to be Southern cuisine.

“Hang in there” means “to not give up.”

I’ll give it a whirl even though I've never done it before.
