Jennie-O Foods made the largest donations of turkeys in 24 hours.

They donated 145,353.91 kg., or 15,120 turkeys, in a single day.

This beat the previous record of 64,463.44 kg set last year by Nick DiGiovanni and Lynn Davis.

The turkeys were given to food charities in New York and Chicago.

The CEO of City Harvest, a food charity, said over 3 million New Yorkers struggle to make ends meet.

Jennie-O donates turkeys to over 5,000 organizations all over the United States every year.

January 16 is Fig Newton Day.

The first Fig Newtons were baked in 1891 and were named after Newton, Massachusetts.

In 2012 the "Fig" was dropped from the product name.

The newest flavors are apple cinnamon, strawberry, raspberry, cherry, and blueberry.

Over 700 million Newtons are sold annually.

“Hit the books” means “to study.”

 We’re having a test tomorrow, so I’m going to hit the books tonight.

“Cool as a cucumber” means “calm or not nervous.”
