Lessons December 2023 Week 3

The Harlem Globetrotters have 24 world records.

In the 1920s, African Americans could not play in professional sports.

Some players made a team in Chicago and played exhibition games.

They won 100 of the first 105 games that they played.

To make the games more interesting, they added comedy to the game.

They are still playing today and are popular with fans from around the world.

December 12 is Ding-A-Ling Day.

On this day, you should call someone you care about, but don’t often speak to.

In 1972 Frank Hyle started the Ding-A-Ling Club with a $1 membership fee.

In the first year he had 871 members, but now millions of people reach out to old friends.

You don’t need to wait for December 12, if you think of someone, give them a call anytime.

“Rings a bell” means “sounds familiar.”

His name rings a bell, I think I know him

“Put something off” means “to delay doing something.”

I put off doing yardwork since it was too hot.
