The penny farthings were popular in the 1870s and 1880s.

The modern style bicycles were first made in the late 1880s.

The name came from the British penny and farthing coins with the penny being much larger than the farthing.

August 22 is National Tooth Fairy Day.

When children lose one of their baby teeth, they should place it underneath their pillow.

 The Tooth Fairy will visit while they sleep, take the tooth and leave some money.

In ancient times, parents would burn or bury the babies’ teeth when they came out.

They believed that a witch would take control of the baby if they found the teeth.
