To go up in flames

Lessons August 2025 Week 2

Zara Lachlan is first female to row across the Atlantic Ocean from Europe to South America.

The 21-year-old rowed her boat 7,026 km in 97 days, 10 hours and 20 minutes.

She rowed approximately 17 hours per day.

No other boats followed her or helped her in any way.

She carried 800 kg of supplies on her boat.

Her phone broke after 40 days so she had no communication with people, news or music.

The first Saturday in August is National Disc Golf Day.

Disc golf, also known as frisbee golf, is similar to regular golf but they use discs instead of balls.

Chains are used to catch the discs which then fall into the basket.

The Frisbie got its name from the Frisbie Pie Company.

College students started tossing empty pie tins stamped with the company's logo.

There are disc golf courses on every continent, including one in Antarctica.

“To be a go” means “it will happen.”

Our business trip is a go for next week.

“A go-getter” means “a hard worker.”

Jim is a real go-getter.
