They started giving me saline (salty water) last night. The first bag will finish at 10 am. After that I will have radiation treatment. In the afternoon I’ll get chemotherapy through the IV drip which takes about two hours. Than more saline for three or four days.

The biggest problem is finding a blood vein to put the IV needle. They poke a needle in left arm several times, no vein. Then several times in the right arm, no luck. He took a break for a few minutes then the left arm again. He found a vein on first try but the needle goes in right where I bend my elbow. I must keep my arm straight even while sleeping. There’s only one position where I can sleep without getting a headache. That’s the one position I must bend my arm. Oh well, only three more days.

I talked with the radiologist yesterday. He used the word “gomenasai” several times. He was very serious about very strong side effects starting from now. From this weekend it’ll be harder day by day. The good thing is that it means I’m getting close to leaving here.

I’m hanging in there. I’m a patient patient.

See ya’ll soon.
